Ben Caldwell (check his official site btw.) is great and very experienced cartoon designer. He share his knowledge in two tutorial-type books called “Action Cartooning” and “Fantasy Cartooning”.

There are descirbed examples of great cartoon sketches, the whole design process is shown step by step.

You can also find some design tips, commonly made mistakes – and a lot of more.

Those two books helped me a lot in my work – check them yourself, you won’t regret it.

Human brain is easily tricked to see predators where there aren’t any (it was better to run than to be eaten). This image and this one demonstrate it pretty well.

Creative Photo Manipulation

Since very often photo manipulations made by “Photoshop experts” are dull and uninteresting – this one is brilliant. (and it’s made with open source Gimp software).

“I need a head-ache” images

Those images will trick your eyes&brain and pretend to be animated;). Head-ache after seeing those is guaranteed – so here you are – ouch one and ouch two.
