Pixel-art Cleveland

I’ve recently created a cover for “Cleveland Magazine” issue July 2011. The whole illustration is a pixel-art view of the city, with some very known and recognizable real buildings in there. Working on the project was extremely fun and I’ve found that Google Street View is great help if you need references of the real buildings from different angles.

Firefoxzilla is back!

I’ve created another pixel-art illustration with Firefoxzilla (huge Fire-fox like mechanical droid that helps people) for challenge on Mozilla’s Creative Collective. It got to the top finals and scored quite a huge number of votes.
Let’s hope Firefoxzilla will keep coming back:)

Here’s something nice from BlackMoon’s team. We were experimenting with Away3D and we were in need of some nice 3D model to use in our playground. So – we’ve created a very nice, low-poly dinosaur and make some walking animation to use in Away3D. Click here to play with our dinosaur. Since we’re rather nice folks we figured out that we’ll share both the model and our Away3D experiment – if you’re interested – go ahead and download the files here. (it’s free to use for personal and commercial projects btw.).

Just visiting, a pixel art commission for Digital Artist magazine

I’ve created this pixel-art illustration for the purpose of the article I wrote for Digital Artist magazine. The article (and illustration itself) was published in April’s issue.
The illustration is titled “Just visiting” and it depicts a London street with a huge, ugly monster taking photos of BigBen (as you can see below).

The article is basically a overview of pixel-art style combined with a 6 page long tutorial on creating a isometric city scene in Photoshop and PixAIR (PixAIR is a small AIR application for creating pixel art developed by one of the BlackMoon’s team members – Michał).

Wow – my last pixel art piece won the 3rd place at Infectious contest. You can buy that design as laptop/iphone skin and ~~soon it’ll be available as t-shirt and Firefox persona skin.~~

I’ve come up with new piece for current Infectious contest – it’s called “Apples are tasty!”.
Guys at Infectious are creating the special line of their laptop covers designed for Macs – with the Apple
logo cut-out in the middle.
So – here’s the illustration I’ve made for it. If you like it and would like to comment or vote for it at Infectious site, that would be very nice of you indeed
